Jacqueline Burke, Author – For The Love Of Music

For the past 3 months, we have had an awesome time writing music with some great people out of Nashville, TN.  Especially this last week, has been truly amazing!

For the love of music, has been a major ingredient in our family; music has always been a driving force behind what we do in our lives.  Music inspires creativity, inspires happiness, inspires friendships, and in fact, inspires healing!  Like I say, “For The Love Of Music!”

My husband and I, are so very grateful for this opportunity to have an outlet for our creative expression.  Thank you to the following:

We look forward to a great future with these gifted individuals and are sincerely grateful.

Jacqueline Burke, Author – Writing Style

We all have a different writing style; some may want to paint a picture using 20 pages of description before they even get to the dialogue, while others just pour it out from their heart, while leaving the visualization to the reader!  I tend to leave something for the reader to create in their own mind; that is part of reading a great book.

When I read a book, I like to be able to visualize the characters, the environment, and feel with my heart, what they are going through.  I like to have the option to do this, however this is my own opinion.  I tend to create this in my own writing.  I find it also helps to create more interest with my readers.

I put my readers in the driver’s seat 😊❤

What do you like to read?  Do you prefer to contribute your own creativity to a novel with your visualization, or do you prefer to have it all created for you?  I know this is a personal preference, but it is important to honor everyone’s creative styles.  That is what makes us unique!  At the end of the day, we end up balancing each other out with our styles, which makes it even more special.  We are creating options, choices, and inspiration for our readers.

Writing and creativity is a gift to cherish; there is no right or wrong way, there is no “by the book”, but what there is, is called “your way”, and that is important to focus on.  Following your own way of writing, brings the best stories, the best creativity, and the best projects!  Follow your own way!

Jacqueline Burke, Author – I Knew A Girl

I Knew A Girl

I knew a girl, who all of her life, all she wanted was to be accepted for who she was.

I knew a girl, who all of her life, all she wanted was to be liked for who she was on the inside, not what she could give to others

I knew a girl, who all of her life, all she wanted was to be loved for her smile, her laugh, and her big heart.

I knew a girl, who wanted to feel wanted, not made to feel a disappointment.

I knew a girl, who all she ever did was say and do everything everyone expected of her.

I knew a girl, who sacrificed all her hopes and dreams just to please others.

I knew a girl, who never criticized anyone, always kept her thoughts to herself, but instead was criticized over every little thing.

I Knew A Girl!

I knew a woman, who saw there was the endless pattern continuing day in and day out

I knew a woman, who all she ever wanted were to see smiles and laughter, and acceptance of her big heart

I knew a woman, who wanted to feel as if she was not a disappointment

I knew a woman, who continued to do everything for her family.

I knew a woman, who tried every single day to have some hopes and dreams.

I knew a woman, who felt as though she just couldn’t win.

I knew a woman, who finally looked in the mirror!

I knew a woman, who loved who she saw standing right in front of her.

I knew a woman, who saw strength inside of her

I knew a woman, who was proud of who she had become

I knew a woman, who saw a big heart

I knew a woman, who was going to smile no matter what!

I knew a woman, who was not going to become the broken little girl

I knew a woman, who had no regrets

I knew a woman, who started living her dreams

I Knew A Woman!

Jacqueline Burke, Author – We Were Just Kids

We were just kids when we couldn’t wait to turn 16 and drive around with our friends

We were just kids when we couldn’t wait to turn 19 and go out dancing at the local nightclub

We were just kids when we couldn’t wait to turn 21 and we were legal everywhere.

All we wanted to do was make time go by faster

We were just kids when we thought we would marry our first love

We were just kids when we thought we would have a dream wedding

We were just kids when we thought we would have 2, no 4 kids

All we wanted to do was make time go by faster

We were just kids when we thought we would live until we were 100

We were just kids when we thought nothing could stop us

We were just kids when we had no fear

All we wanted to do was make time go by faster

We were just kids when our best friend died

We were just kids when our grandparents didn’t live until they were 100

We were just kids when our childhood sweetheart left us for another

All we wanted to do was make time stand still

We were just kids when we married the wrong person and ended up in divorce

We were just kids when we were raising children on our own

We were just kids when we feared everything in our paths

All we wanted to do was make time stand still

We were just kids when we were faced with looking after our loved one’s health

We were just kids when we watched how life went full circle and our parents were now our dependents

We were just kids when we had to bury them beside their own parents who died too soon

We were just kids when we looked in the mirror and wondered where time went

All we wanted to do was become a kid again

We were kids again, when we realized that life is short

We were kids again, when we realized age is just a number

We were kids again, when we realized we will always be someone’s child

We were kids again, when we realized we shouldn’t regret our past

We were kids again, when we realized we can be young at heart

We were kids again, when we realized it is okay to follow a dream

We were kids again, when we realized we don’t need to hate

We were kids again, when we realized it is okay to love

We were kids again, when we realized we don’t see the color of skin

We were kids again, when we realized in order to know a person, we need to look into their eyes

We were kids again, when it all made sense – we are all one

All we want is Peace
